Kirikiriroa, Hamilton. AKA Hamiltron, The Tron, H-Town, winner of the ‘Most Beautiful Large City in Aotearoa’ award in 2020 and fastest growing city in the country has a large fast growing problem!

Rats! Lots and lots of rats! A rat-festation of rats! And not just any old rats, a raft of musical theatre rats have rafted up the Waikato River and set up shop in Hamilton to rehearse their new show HAMILTON RATS!

Naturally the Hamiltonians are horrified. Not only are they kept up all night with squeaking, singing and rat-dancing, the rats are stealing all their underwear to make costumes. Something has to be done to stop this rat-atastrophe and fast!

Just when all hope seems lost, a strange figure strides into town. Clad in a coat of many colours and brandishing an impressive wind instrument, this ‘Pied Piper’ promises to solve Hamilton’s ratty problem… for a fantastical fee!

A classic Kiwi version of the famous ‘Piped Pier of Hamelin’ tale, this hilarious and interactive adaptation will have your students (and teachers) laughing and thinking about the value of tolerance and kindness, keeping promises and not judging a book, or rat, by its cover.

No children will be made to disappear during the show.
